Clothes make the man.

“Costumes are the first impression that you have of the character before they open their mouth—it really does establish who they are.” —multiple Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood

That’s a sentiment that’s hard to disagree with. After all, it comes from the woman who was the costume designer on the film that gave us this incredible moment, in my opinion one of the greatest character introductions ever: 

This was the first film she ever did with Tim Burton. No wonder he decided to keep her around, huh?
